Dagger

To be attacked by someone with a dagger warns of bodily injury from an enemy or a mugger. To see a dagger in your dream is a warning to be careful of saying ‘cutting’ words to someone. To wrench the dagger from someones hand means you will overcome adversity and misfortune.

Daisy

If someone gives you a bunch of daisys or if you see them it presages much sorrow for you and even a lost love. If you are walking in a field of daises and the sun is shining making everything you see beautiful then will you have some of the best luck, as you travel your road of life there will always be someone or something to smooth out the bumps.

Dance

Dance is usually a celebratory activity and something we do when we feel happy. This dream may therefore indicate that you feel pleased about the way a situation is progressing at the moment. You may feel a sense of freedom from constraining influences. Other things may also be expressed by dance: For example, if you dance with another person, this intimacy can represent sexual intercourse. A man and woman dancing together may show the union of the masculine and feminine aspects of your personality.

Dancing in a dream expresses transformation, energy and celebration – is there something new going on in your life?  Dancing with a partner often portrays the status of a friendship and your feelings about a friend or you may be rehearsing for an upcoming performance.

Danger

To dream that you are in danger and are wounded or killed, signifies substantial losses in business and discouraging prospects in love. You need to be more cautious in some aspect of your life. To dream that you escape from danger, signifies that you will rise to a place of high position and honour in your business and social circle.

Dates

If you dream of plump ripe dates growing on a tree you will have a happy time ahead of you for the next few days. If you pluck one of these juicy morsels and feed it to your love denotes that you will soon marry or find the perfect mate for you. Should you eat a dull looking date that has been packed for shipping this will auger poverty and need for the dreamer.

Daughter

1. If the dreamer is pregnant, and the daughter an as-yet unknown, this could be a sign that she is going to have a girl.
2. If you have a daughter, she is trying to communicate something to you but may be afraid to. Other symbols in the dream could shed light on what it is.
3. If the dreamer is neither pregnant nor the parent of a daughter, yet in the dream she has a daughter, this could indicate that the dreamer will start a new creative project soon. If the daughter is pretty and happy, the project will be a success. But if the child is crying, the project will hit a lot of snags.

Dead/Alive

Dead people who appear alive in dreams have three general categories of participation: cameo, resolution, and judgment. Cameo participation is a little eerie in recall, but not particularly noteworthy in the dream itself. In these cases, the dreamer simply sees a dead person intact and living, just hanging out in the dream scene.

Deja Vu

The feeling that I’d already been on that island in a previous dream- To dream of Déjà vu, indicates some unresolved issue which you are not addressing or are refusing to acknowledge. It may also represent a message or word of advice that you need to heed.

Diaper

To see or wear a diaper in your dream, symbolizes your childish or babyish attitudes/actions. You may be too dependent on others. To dream that you are changing diapers, suggests a need to clean up you behavior and change your childish ways. Perhaps you need to change your attitude and approach regarding a new idea or project. To see dirty diapers in your dream, indicates that you need to clean the mess you have created with your childishness.

Diamonds

Not always a positive symbol.
1. If you are alone holding diamonds in your hand, someone you care for very deeply could be turning cold towards you.

Dinosaur

To see a dinosaur in your dream, symbolizes an outdated attitude. You may need to discard your old ways of thinking and habits. This an anxiety dream and shows that you need to work on you self image through building your self worth.

Disguise

Disguises may symbolize trying out a different personality and taking on a new role.  It may also reveal a developing hidden talent or ability.  Wearing a disguise may mask feelings of inferiority or suggest you are hiding from the truth.

Dishes

To see dishes in your dream, represents ideas, concepts, and attitudes. It may also be a fun for what you are “dishing” out to others. If the dishes are dirty and unwashed, then it signifies dissatisfaction and an unpromising outlook. You may have overlooked some problems in your life or you have not confronted your emotions. To dream that you are washing dishes, suggests that you are moving on and planning for the next thing that comes your way. Doctor

Dreaming about a doctor can indicate anxiety about health. In some cases, the doctor can be used to represent another authority figure, such as a clergyman or teacher.

Dogs

To see a dog in your dream, indicate a skill that you have ignored or forgotten, but needs to be activated.

To see a happily barking dog in your dream, symbolizes pleasures and much social activity.

Dolphin

A dolphin is wise, inquisitive mammal with a reputation for helping swimmers and sailors by warning them of danger.  Swimming with the dolphins refers to freedom, wholeness and connection with nature.  Dolphins may bring thoughs and wishes from the unconscious to the surface.

Donkey

To see a donkey in your dream, represents your stubbornness and unyielding personality. You are unwilling to cooperate with others. If the donkey is dead, then it denotes that your party hearty attitude will lead to unrestrained immorality. Door

An open door may indicate a new opportunity or phase of life – it is a portal of change, growth, or transformation.  Open doors can offer shelter and protection from the storms of life.  A close door may represent an obstacle, a lost opportunity, or something unknown or scary.  You may need to open the door to see what is behind it.

Dove

A dove is a simple of peace and purity.  Dreaming of one may indicate friendship and spirituality.

Dragon

A dragon is often seen as opposite of a dove.  It is both aggressive and dangerous.  A dragon is the evil standing in the way of something good.  You may have to slay the dragon  to reach  your goal.  In Chinese tradition, dragons represent imperial power and bring good luck.

Dragonfly

If you dream that a dragonfly lands on your body then you will have excellent news from someone far away from home. If you see a dead dragonfly, then the news will be bad. A dragonfly perched gracefully on some other object shows that you will soon be having guests that may be hard to get rid of.

Drink

Drowning

To dream that you drown or in the midst of drowning is a bad omen as it pertains to the health of your business and partnership activities.

Duck

To see ducks swimming on clear water shows that you will have a lucky journey, possibly over water. Not a portent of death per se.
1. If you dream of dying yourself, then all your troubles will soon be over and you can start anew. However, it could also mean that a part of you is dying and, if the other symbols in the dream tell you that it’s a part of you that you like, you’d better find a way to resurrect it, and fast.
2. Sometimes this can be a wish-fulfillment dream, if you dream that someone who is causing trouble for you is dying. Don’t feel guilty; this is a better way to manifest that wish than other ways!
