Face

A symbol dependent on the circumstances of the dream. If you see a happy, smiling face, then pleasures and good times lie ahead. If you see a sad or frowning face, then troubles and worries may be plaguing you, and you have to “face” them. Dreaming of washing your face indicates the need to “clean up” your act, while dreaming of a face with a major blemish indicates the need to work on changing a bad habit.

Your face is what you show to the world.  It is your identity and your expression will tell you your underlying emotions.    A blank expression may mean you are unwilling to face up to something or that there is something that you need to confront.

Failing

For Freud, falling symbolizes sexual inability. In modern terms, falling represents a fear of loss of control.

Fairy

If you should dream of a beautiful, happy fairy you will have much joy and happiness in your own life in pleasant surroundings. Should the fairy be sad, this denotes a loss of love or money, or both.

Fairy Tale

To dream that you are a character in a fairy tale, suggests your need to be rescued or to be swept off your feet. It also indicates that you are exploring your limits and trying to awaken your fullest potential. To dream that you are reading a fairy tale, indicates that you are a romantic at heart.

Falling

Falling indicates feelings of insecurity and lack of support. What situation have you “fallen into?” Who has “let you down?” Perhaps not surprisingly, this particular dream is most common among professional men and women. The Illustrated Dream Dictionary authors Russell Grant and Vicky Emptage note the close relationship between “falling” and “failing.” They also note that the dream’s meaning is probably not so clear-cut. Grant and Emptage ascribe dreams of falling to feelings of isolation, the sense of being without the support and affection that success cannot provide.

Falling is basically just waking back up – the action of returning to consciousness. The old wives tale that if you fall in your dream and hit the ground, you will die, IS NOT TRUE. If you hit the ground in the dream, you will bounce right back and the dream will continue… falling at this point would have the meaning of “falling from grace” or “fall on your face” – embarrassment.

Falling dreams are amoung the most common dreams to have and the dreamer typically awakes in fear.  THe dream may underscore some anxiety in your life like failing at something or being put down by someone you are trying to impress.  A falling dream may signal tha tyour life feels out of control.  You might be overwhelmed trying to keep it all together or anxious about letting go.  Falling dreams may hint at arrogant or self-destructive behavior.

Family

If you dream of a large family this means that your fortunes in life are looking up, but if the family is unhappy or bickering it will denote the opposite for you. It would mean the same if the family is an animal family. If the family is very sad expect some adverse reactions in your financial structure.

Famous People Dreams

Dreaming of a celebrity?  Do you like him or her?  If something about the celebrity reminds you of yourself or of someone you know, the figure may represent an attitude or a characteristic of yours of someone close to you.

Father

Dreams about one’s father have meanings that vary along with the relationship between father and child. Dreaming of an absent or estranged father can be manifestations of yearning for a lost childhood.

As an archetype, the father represents the protector, lawgiver or ruler. It may appear in dreams as a king, emperor, wise old man, or as the sun, a weapon or a phallus. Carl Jung considered this important symbol to play a crucial psychological role in the destiny of the individual. Sometimes this figure may represent the conscience and shows your conventional moral opinions. If the father plays the role of a protector, it may symbolize that you need to become more self-reliant and depend on your own resources. May people dream of hostility towards their father. This shows how the unconscious is dethroning the father in order to enable you to achieve a proper sense of yourself and be a person in your own right.

Fear

To dream that you feel fear, signifies that you achievements will not be as successful as you had anticipated. You are having anxieties in certain circumstances of your life. However, your worries will be temporary and short-lived.

Feather

Dreaming of feathers can have as many interpretations as there are feathers, depending on their actions, their colors, the type of bird that furnished them and where they were found. Try correlating all the know factors to glean the real answer from your dream. Generally though, A dream of many feathers floating in the air denotes a mighty stroke of good luck to your finances, while ornamental feathers denote an increase in social affairs; if you brush them off, you will have many small joys.

Feet

1. A pun, implying issues of “under-standing.” Aching, painful, or injured feet imply a misunderstanding between you and a loved one. Bathing the feet, however, hints at a resolution of any disagreements.
2. Viewing many feet walking on the street indicates financial reverses.

Fence

A dream of a fence is a straight out obstacle dream and can only be used in the interpretation as action and content define. It is a symbol of being hemmed in, confined, restrained and otherwise prevented from going where one would want to go. It also a symbol of protection of property, self, and possession. A fence between you and another person could be saying to that person, “this far and no further”.

Fever

A fever is a warning.  Look carefully at yourself and your friendship as something may be sick.  Fevers represent restlessness and delusions.

Figs

To see figs in your dream, signifies a turn for the positive. To dream that you are eating figs, signifies a favourable turn in health. To see them growing, symbolizes profit and wealth. Figs are also often associated with sex and eroticism.

Fighting

To dream that you engage in a fight, denotes that you will have unpleasant encounters with your business opponents, and law suits threaten you.

To see fighting, denotes that you are squandering your time and money. For women, this dream is a warning against slander and gossip.

For a young woman to see her lover fighting, is a sign of his unworthiness.

To dream that you are defeated in a fight, signifies that you will lose your right to property.

Fire

Dreams about fire can also have various meanings. Fire can symbolize destruction, but it can also symbolize passion.

Burning is a tremendous fear many people from many different cultures hold in common. However, it is often simultaneously associated with purification. To pass through fire intact is to see oneself as becoming purified. However, being burned may indicate that one perceives life as extraordinarily threatening and painful. If a particular object is on fire (house, car, etc.), this may symbolize over-commitment to it or fear of a world without it.

Fingernails

To see clean, well-kept fingernails, denotes that you are well cultured and have a high literary mind. To see dirty fingernails, signifies disgrace amongst your family. Fire

Fish

Flashlight

Flying

Interestingly, Grant and Emptage interpret flying dreams as boasting about sexual powers. The important part of the dream is how you are flying; since the flying itself represents your ambitions, are you flying successfully, or trying and failing to fly as high as possible? From there, they make the leap to feelings of sexual inadequacy, but such feelings of low self-esteem could cover inadequacy of any kind, not just sexual.

For Freud, once again, this indicates sexual activity. Jung suggests that flying symbolizes confidence, liberty and transcendence.

In modern terms, flying dreams symbolize exceptional ability.

Flying dreams are quite common and are typically fun and enjoyable.  How do you feel when flying?  It can represent freedom and joy in movement.  Flying  may also be a way to show off, so you may feel stressed and anxious about your ability to perform.  Dreams in which you try to fly but cannot get off the ground may point to an obstacle that prevents you from being successful.

Fog

An obstacle dream, dependent on other circumstances in the dream for exact interpretation. A fog at sea indicates blockages in emotional situations, such as romance. A fog on land indicates setbacks with regard to business or financial progress. If the fog clears away during the dream, then the blockages will let up and therefore there’s no need to lose heart. Frog
